Frequently Asked Questions

It’s been a while since ‘normal’, but we are now working towards the ‘new normal’ and making changes in the centre. Your visits to Roefield  will continue to be SAFE, CLEAN, FRIENDLY AND FUN.

We understand that some members may be a bit apprehensive about returning to the gym following on from the COVID-19 outbreak, so we have put together some FAQ’s which we think will help your return and make it as smooth and easy as possible.

We do have a policy in place which covers all health and safety aspects, all cleaning aspects and all safe working aspects. If you would like to read our policy relating to the COVID-19 outbreak, please email us on sport@roefield.co.uk.

If you require any further information about any of the points raised below, please contact us on sport@roefield.co.uk

We have installed hand sanitizing stations regularly around the centre. Upon entering the centre, customers will take their own cloth. Every piece of gym equipment will have its own cleaning bottle for you to sanitize after you have used it. Our gym instructors will also be regularly deep cleaning the gym at intervals throughout the day. We will also have masks and gloves readily available at reception should you require these whilst in the centre.

We have changed the layout of the whole centre allowing gym equipment to be correctly spaced out across several rooms. This ensures a 2m distance is maintained between each piece of equipment. We have also marked out 'zones' for customers to use in group sessions that are 2m apart. We have also installed distance stickers around the centre so that customers can see the correct distance between themselves and others.

As per the government guidelines, our air con system will be turned off in place of our ventilation system, which will run 24hours a day. All available doors and windows will be open to help provide constant fresh air throughout any session.

As per the most recent government guidance, we are continuing to ask all customers to come changed and ready to use the facilities and shower at home after their workout where possible. The changing rooms will however be open if this is not possible. The toilets remain open as normal and we are also looking to re-open the sauna and steam room on 17th May in line with the government guidance. More information on this will be made available closer to the time.

We kindly ask customers to bring minimal items and personal belongings to the centre. We do have lockers available in the changing rooms and also in the corridor.

We have made some slight changes to our opening times which allows us to regularly deep clean all the equipment. These will be constantly reviewed in line with restrictions lifting.

When we re-open, our hours will be:

Monday - Friday: 6am - 9pm
Saturday: 8am - 5pm
Sunday: 8am - 3pm

We are asking all members to check the gym capacity in our app before attending to check we are not at capacity, or alternatively give us a call. This does not apply to members who are booked onto group sessions.

Please see our Roefield Roadmap for guidance on when class activities will restart.

Our brand new app will be your go to for all things Roefield. From your phone you will be able to book your favourite classes (when restrictions are lifted) and view our large catalogue of on demand classes. You can also check how busy the gym is and keep up to date with the latest Roefield news.

No, additional inductions will not be required. Should you need help with any of the kit you can click here for demonstration videos on how to set up each piece of equipment.

If Active Aerobics members are using the gym for the first time, you are welcome to contact us for a quick gym induction should you wish.

We are currently offering a digital programme service where you can email us on  sport@roefield.co.uk  and an instructor will send you either a new personalised programme or your current gym programme. Alternatively if you would like a face to face appointment, these can be booked via the one-to-one bookings on the app or at reception.

As part of our Covid financial recovery plan, we are for the time being suspending car park refunds in help us recover some income from our extended period of closure. We appreciate all members support on this decision.

Currently all sportshall activities have been put on hold as we have utilised this space to accommodate social distancing in the gym and classes. We will be in contact with all block bookings once we are able to start reintroducing activities.
