Times have changed, and so have we…

We have recently partnered with Longridge Community Gym and are proud to announce the new Ribble Valley Health and Wellbeing Partnership.

We are super excited to announce the partnership’s first project which is OUR new and improved Up & Active programme, rebranded to ‘LET’S LIVE LIFE’.

The ‘Up & Active’ Scheme had been hosted at Roefield since 2018.

We are confident that LET’S LIVE LIFE is an improved package of activities: 
• The continuation of classes such as Aerobics, Circuits and Seated Workouts
• BRAND NEW Tai Chi, Fitness Come Dancing, Standing and Seated Pilates (For those with health/mobility conditions, classes will be recommended by your instructor)
• A six week health, nutrition and fitness programme tailored specifically to your personal needs and goals
• MORE supervised gym sessions, which will now run Monday to Thursday 1pm-2pm where you can meet your gym buddies, workout and socialise. Your instructor will also be on hand to help you with your programme
• Access to the Roefield App, where you can enjoy classes in the comfort of your home and have access to your programme
• Free social activities, inside and outside of the centre
• Access to Roefield Leisure AND Longridge Community Gym

And all this is just £25.00 for the full six weeks!

The Scheme is suitable for:
• Those who have suffered the affects of Covid, whether that be Long Covid, loneliness, anxiety, or isolation due to lockdown
• Those with limited mobility, health conditions, over 50 years old who have never exercised, and/or the over 60’s

Membership update 
Those on the Freedom/Total memberships will still be able to access the classes as normal, as well as all the new classes and the app. 

If you meet any of the following criteria below, you will be eligable for the scheme.

  • Limited mobility
  • Plantar fascittis sufferers
  • Type 1/2 diabetic
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Arthritis (osteo/rheumatoid)
  • Mental health (anxiety/depresseion)
  • Menopausal
  • Joint replacement
  • Simple mechanical back pain
  • Osteoporosis
  • Over the age of 50 and new to exercise
  • Over the age of 60 
  • Obese
  • Long covid
  • Suffering from the effects of the Covid pandemic (loneliness/anxiety/depression/sedentary lifestyle)

LET’S LIVE LIFE Activities

Exercise to music including aerobics, step, circuit and resistance exercises to energise the whole body. Can improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility.

A pilates class performed in a chair, as opposed to standing. It is tailored specifically for the more mature exerciser, or for those with limited mobility. It helps improve posture, increase core strength, prevent injury, improve circulation and mobility. It heightens body awarenesss and has no impact on the joints. 

A circuit based session to suit all abilities. This class gives you an all over body workout, which improves your cardiovascular system, strength, agility and balance.

A gym based class that gives you an all over body workout, which improves fitness, posture, with muscular strength and endurance run by a specialist exercise professional. Suitable for those who feel they may need a bit of extra assistance with the gym equipment.

Drop in sessions with chat and weigh in run by our trained advisor who will help you focus on your diet and lifestyle, looking at what you eat and how active you are.
